Lowbar Publishing Company provides digital and off-set printing for its clients. We print 25–50,000 books per run, and we offer on-demand printing. We produce perfect-bound, saddle-stitch, hardback, and case-bound materials, and each book is printed with a custom book cover. Our staff is experienced in the book industry and we use only established printing companies.
Most manuscripts can be converted to a book within 65–90 working days. Lowbar sends to the author (via e-mail) the final PDF files, at no additional cost. Lowbar publishes authors’ books for a fee—with or without a distribution contract. We can assist authors with retail marketing (for an additional charge). Retail marketing includes print, video, radio, TV appearances, mailing list, and so forth.

I am the pastor of Second Missionary Baptist Church, which is located in the heart of historic Waverly-Belmont community in Nashville, Tennessee. I am a native of Ripley, Tennessee. Prior to my pastorate, I owned and operated several businesses.
I have experience with the businesses of personal and commercial insurance, real estate, mutual funds, special marketing, and financial planning. In addition to my business experience, I served as an adjunct professor of the former Nashville Bible College—instructing a “New Testament Greek” course.
I am the author of several books, including Prophetic Building: Preparing Your Church for Pastoral Leadership, and Grace: Building Wealth One Penny at a Time.”
Lowbar Publishing Company is a licensed business in the state of Tennessee and was established in 2008.
President and Publisher Calvin C. Barlow, Jr. is a 2013 recipient of the Black Essence Awards. He is a board member of the National Baptist Convention‘s Home Mission Board. He is currently the president of Lowbar Publishing Company. He has written for The National Baptist Voice Magazine, and the African American Lectionary. He is the author of several books, including Prophetic Building: Preparing Your Church for Pastoral Leadership, and Grace: Building Wealth One Penny at a Time.” He has owned several businesses in the Nashville’s area. His businesses’ experiences include personal and commercial insurance, real estate, mutual funds, special marketing, and financial planning.
